Bite Beauty Maple Matte Crème Lipsticks - Warmed Maple & Braised Maple

August 10, 2015 Danielle D'Ornellas
Bite Beauty Maple Matte Crème Lipsticks

Bite Beauty Maple Matte Crème Lipsticks

It's confession time, my friends. Despite arduously going through my lipstick collection in April and ditching about 10 lipsticks from my collection, I still haven't reigned in my lipstick addiction. In fact, I think I've outright purchased at least five new ones since that monthly challenge! The good news is, however, they've all been high-quality gorgeous lipsticks I know will suit me for quite some time. And my latest additions from Bite Beauty are no exception!

Bite Beautyis a homegrown Canadian beauty line that is sold exclusively at Sephora. Based right here in Toronto, this line of lipsticks are all food-grade quality, done in small batches, to ensure that the organic ingredients still retain all their natural benefits. The formula of these lipsticks, glosses and balms are consistently high-quality and moisturizing. I've owned a few glosses now and figured it was time to move onto the main event... lipsticks!

The Maple Matte Crème line is a Canadian exclusive that features five different shades all inspired by the different colours found on the leaves of maple trees and each lipstick smells of maple. The shades are as follows:

  • Warmed Maple - A bright tangerine/orange
  • Candied Maple - A medium orangey-red
  • Braised Maple - A bright medium brick red
  • Mulled Maple - A dark burgundy
  • Sugared Maple - A medium/dark plum

Because I already had a really good colour that was similar to Sugared, Mulled and Candied, I opted for Braised Maple and Warmed Maple.

Warmed Maple
If you read the April Lipstick Challenge, you know that I love a good orange lipstick. Before I bought this shade, I took a look at some of the other bloggers who explored this line and I knew that Warmed Maple would fit the bill perfectly, so I had to snap it up. Warmed is hyper-moisturizing, long-lasting, doesn't feather and it SMELLS LIKE MAPLE. It's delightful. Utterly delightful. It's not QUITE matte, more of a crème, but it looks better that way.

Totally in love with this colour. I can't recommend @bitebeauty's Warmed Maple enough. #bbloggersca

Braised Maple
The great part about this collection. is that despite it's summer release, three of the five colours are fall and winter shades. Fall of 2015 is calling for some deep, wine-like shades and these beauties don't disappoint. I chose Braised Maple specifically because it reminded me of a cabernet and can't wait to leave lipstick marks all over my wineglasses all winter long.

Sneaking in a #nationallipstickday in my go-to shade for fall, #BiteBeauty's Braised Maple!

So that's that! Have you purchased any of the Maple Matte Crèmes yet? Have I convinced you? They won't be along for much longer! You can grab one of these exclusively at Sephora for $28 CA.

Looks like it's time for my monthly makeup! This time last year I was only two weeks post-eye surgery so I couldn't wear makeup at all and then all of ~ this ~ happened. I was going through my vanity recently, not that I've had to desire to wear stuff again, and discovered that SO many of my products had gone bad, and, of them, how many were things I had barely touched. I'm not heading to MINIMALISM or anything, but it has been a bit cathartic to throw out things and really take stock of things, whether it's makeup, or just anything else in life. The one thing I feel grateful for in the last time is more of this time to figure out what *I* actually want, even if it's not what I expected one year ago.
Took a half day yesterday and ended up at the lake. It wasn't too cold, but the skyline looked amazing. I'm still pretty sad these days, not gonna lie, but it felt nice to do something outside and I hope this weather sticks around so I can experience

Today was a holiday, it meant I didn't need to go to work, but when work is just a desk in your living room two feet from your couch, it still feels like you're always at work and never at work, and always waiting until you just turn the laptop back on. Days have no real meaning, time has no meaning, the monotony is just what it is now. Today wasn't a good day. I didn't have to do anything and I couldn't really do anything. Stuff felt pointless, hobbies felt pointless. Everything felt hard and yet I still had to force myself through it. Here's to basically just muddling through. Because we're all gonna have these days and to pretend you don't isn't helping anyone, even yourself.

I even threw on a dress and tights so at least I partially felt like we were really going out! ♥️ Not our most exciting anniversary, but definitely in the top ten 😉.

But it is still nice to see some sunshine, even if it's bouncing off of 1 Bloor East & blasting me in the face as I try to read! 😂☀️
