GIVEAWAY: Valentine's Pampering with FarleyCo!

February 13, 2016 Danielle D'Ornellas
Getting some much-needed TLC this weekend!

Getting some much-needed TLC this weekend!

I don't know about you, but I'm desperately in need of some TLC this weekend as the temperature in Toronto has dipped from a balmy 7c last week, to -30 in a few mere days. For the last two days I've been holed up at home, furnace cranked, sweaters on sweaters on sweaters and cursing the fact that I live somewhere where the cold hurts my face. (WHY DOES THE COLD HURT MY FACE?!)

And did I mention my pipes froze last night?!

So obviously it's the perfect time for some pampering thanks to FarleyCo! Read about some of their favourite products for a weekend spent treating yo'self.

I Love... Vanilla & Ice Cream

As a self-diagnosed shower gel addict, I was super excited to get another dessert-scented body wash in my arsenal, as I'm basically banned from buying any new ones until 2017! (You think I'm joking? Just wait for THAT beauty inventory post!)

I love that Vanilla & Ice Cream smells exactly as decadent as you would expect, but doesn't leave a cloying vanilla smell afterwards. Just a pleasant, sweet scent! (Also leaves my bathroom smelling great too!)

I Love... offers a variety of scents like Coconut & Cream, Mango & Papaya, Raspberry & Blackberry & the classic Strawberries & Cream, and if you can't get enough, spritzers, body butters and more!

Dead Sea Mud Mask, Cucumber Peel-Off, & Passion Peel-Off.

7th Heaven Masks

For over 30 years, the brand formerly known as Montagne Jeunesse was a sleepover necessity when I was younger, and it seems that I've always got a spare oneor two in my bathroom for a quick pick-me-up. Each single-use sachet is made of natural ingredients that are sustainability grown, not tested on animals and actively made from ingredients that are ethically sourced. Basically, 7th Heaven's mission is to be friendly to animals, farmers and our skin at the same time.

7th Heaven has a huge variety of full-face masks, including mud masks, self-heating mask, scrubs, peels, sheet masks and their deliciously decadent souffle's! What I love the most is that 7th Heaven offers the classics you love and the new trendy ingredients you want to try. Also? Each mask can be yours for only $2! You can find these babies at Lawtons, Walmart, London Drugs, and more.

COLAB Dry Shampoo

Last but not least, one of the MOST USED hair products in my medicine cabinet (and purse!) a dry shampoo!

But wait, how does dry shampoo fit into all of this? Well, when you have long hair and it's -20 (OR WORSE), you dont neccessarily want to dry all that hair every day, do you? Instead, my dry shampoo collection TOTALLY helps to get me through to the end of the week. COLAB offers a variety of dry shampoos for people who want more volume (New York), people who like an invisible touch (Tokyo) and all in unique scents so not even your most discerning coworker will discover your hair deception.

COLAB retails for $5.49 and can be found at most drug stores like London Drugs, Rexall, Jean Coutu and is coming to Shoppers Drug Mart next month!

Now it's your turn!

I'm not the only one who gets to kick back with these products, if you take a few minutes to enter this contest below, FarleyCo will send all this and then some to a lucky winner! What are you waiting for? Contest runs until February 22nd and you can tweet multiple times, get on it!

Looks like it's time for my monthly makeup! This time last year I was only two weeks post-eye surgery so I couldn't wear makeup at all and then all of ~ this ~ happened. I was going through my vanity recently, not that I've had to desire to wear stuff again, and discovered that SO many of my products had gone bad, and, of them, how many were things I had barely touched. I'm not heading to MINIMALISM or anything, but it has been a bit cathartic to throw out things and really take stock of things, whether it's makeup, or just anything else in life. The one thing I feel grateful for in the last time is more of this time to figure out what *I* actually want, even if it's not what I expected one year ago.
Took a half day yesterday and ended up at the lake. It wasn't too cold, but the skyline looked amazing. I'm still pretty sad these days, not gonna lie, but it felt nice to do something outside and I hope this weather sticks around so I can experience

Today was a holiday, it meant I didn't need to go to work, but when work is just a desk in your living room two feet from your couch, it still feels like you're always at work and never at work, and always waiting until you just turn the laptop back on. Days have no real meaning, time has no meaning, the monotony is just what it is now. Today wasn't a good day. I didn't have to do anything and I couldn't really do anything. Stuff felt pointless, hobbies felt pointless. Everything felt hard and yet I still had to force myself through it. Here's to basically just muddling through. Because we're all gonna have these days and to pretend you don't isn't helping anyone, even yourself.
To celebrate our 14th anniversary, @thecjm and I made the best of it and ordered the set course from @alobaryorkville including some amazing scallops, a duck confit, amazing milk bread & a truly decadent millefeuille, streamed their Spotify playl

I even threw on a dress and tights so at least I partially felt like we were really going out! ♥️ Not our most exciting anniversary, but definitely in the top ten 😉.
First pic on the grid in 2021 is a makeup free, eye bag visible, sunshine selfie and I'm not mad about it. The last few weeks have been rough, but so have the last two months of lockdown in Toronto and hell, the last ten months in general. But it is

But it is still nice to see some sunshine, even if it's bouncing off of 1 Bloor East & blasting me in the face as I try to read! 😂☀️
