The Covet Clique - March 26, 2016

March 26, 2016 Danielle D'Ornellas

After spending the entire winter downsizing and purging and trying SO. VERY. HARD. to finish products in my beauty collection, I've avoided doing a Covet Clique post because I have a nasty habit of buying things I put in this post. And actually? From creation to posting, I've already bought one of this month's products! Ooops! Read on to see what I'm obsessing over this month.

But first..

Peanut butter jelly time, it's PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME.

Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette

Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette

I have literally no idea how I've somehow never picked up a Too Faced palette over the last few years, considering how well reviewed they are and how TOTALLY ADORABLE their collections are, but I think I've found one that is a MUST for me.I saw one of these babies up close and personal this weekend and am totally in love. It smells like that delicious fakey peanut butter smell but more with a hint of chocolate, and the shades are totally perfect for me (and most people!) Purples? Bronzes(es? Browns? Sign me up! The colours are so very vibrant and pigmented, in both matte AND shimmer shades (almost metallic it seems?) that I'm jonseing quite badly you guyz.

Ciate Liquid Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Envy

I literally have no need for this lipstick. At all. I already have a growing collection of odd colours in my lipstick collection that I don't have the easiest time figuring out when to wear it, but I WANT IT SO BADLY I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU. I love blue, I've wanted a blue lipstick forevverrrr and I think this one would look good on me (for some reason.) It's brand new, there's barely any swatches of it, and I haven't seen it in store yet. But it's online. I will wait for the April Sephora sale patiently.

Caolion Premium Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo

I have to admit, I don't have perfect skin but I'm fairly lucky in that I don't have BAD skin. My biggest concerns are mild rosacea, sensitivity, hereditary eye-bags (all the ladies in my fam have em!) and my nose is blackhead city. But I don't have discolouration or acne really, so I can't really complain. I do, however, have a hard time finding a way to tackle my blackheads. The best thing so far is a homemade blend of milk and nutmeg, but that only lasts 3-4 days at best. I'm ready for something new and I've heard SUCH GOOD THINGS about this mask pack that I clearly need to give it a try. Its a two part system, one mask helps clear out your pores from impurities and blackheads, while the second tightens pores afterwards and soothes them. K-Beauty for the win!

Reebok Classic x FACE Stockholm

These babies, in peach. Reebok paired up with skincare and makeup company Face Stockholm for this gorgeous collection that's inspired by COLOUR, just in time for spring. I love a good sneaker and after ditching several shoes last fall during my purge, I realized the only sneaks I truly have left have my SUPER supportive uggo ones for when my plantar fascitis is acting up. I had no more cute sneaks! So I nabbed a pair of these babies from Little Burgundy after deliberating for a few weeks and can't wait to try em on! They also come in mint green and lavender. Pastel rainbow!

Damage? $100 CDN at Little Burgundy or Reebok.ca

And I REALLY THINK that I should stop there this month. After all this purging and using up of products, I'm afraid that doing any more hunting will just make me spend more and that was NOT THE GOAL of minimizing my makeup collection!

What do you have your eyes on right now?

Looks like it's time for my monthly makeup! This time last year I was only two weeks post-eye surgery so I couldn't wear makeup at all and then all of ~ this ~ happened. I was going through my vanity recently, not that I've had to desire to wear stuff again, and discovered that SO many of my products had gone bad, and, of them, how many were things I had barely touched. I'm not heading to MINIMALISM or anything, but it has been a bit cathartic to throw out things and really take stock of things, whether it's makeup, or just anything else in life. The one thing I feel grateful for in the last time is more of this time to figure out what *I* actually want, even if it's not what I expected one year ago.
Took a half day yesterday and ended up at the lake. It wasn't too cold, but the skyline looked amazing. I'm still pretty sad these days, not gonna lie, but it felt nice to do something outside and I hope this weather sticks around so I can experience

Today was a holiday, it meant I didn't need to go to work, but when work is just a desk in your living room two feet from your couch, it still feels like you're always at work and never at work, and always waiting until you just turn the laptop back on. Days have no real meaning, time has no meaning, the monotony is just what it is now. Today wasn't a good day. I didn't have to do anything and I couldn't really do anything. Stuff felt pointless, hobbies felt pointless. Everything felt hard and yet I still had to force myself through it. Here's to basically just muddling through. Because we're all gonna have these days and to pretend you don't isn't helping anyone, even yourself.

I even threw on a dress and tights so at least I partially felt like we were really going out! ♥️ Not our most exciting anniversary, but definitely in the top ten 😉.
First pic on the grid in 2021 is a makeup free, eye bag visible, sunshine selfie and I'm not mad about it. The last few weeks have been rough, but so have the last two months of lockdown in Toronto and hell, the last ten months in general. But it is

But it is still nice to see some sunshine, even if it's bouncing off of 1 Bloor East & blasting me in the face as I try to read! 😂☀️
