The 90s are back in a big, bad, awesome way. As a girl who came of age in the 90s, some of the trends that have resurfaced have amused me, surprised me and horrified me. But the one that I'm totally cool with, however? Neutral lips!
It's no secret that I love lipstick. Red, purple, brown, pink, orange, coral, burgundy, eggplant, you name it, I've got it. So for a lip lover like me, a neutral lip in brown, tan, beige or pink is just another hue in the rainbow. I'll try anything.
So today I'm testing out Model Co's Dusk Till Dawn.
This lipstick came to me from Birchbox earlier in the year. I remember when it landed, people were really upset and confused because the lipstick appeared to be very brown in colour. You know, a colour that's not always flattering. Even I was hesitant to even test it out because I wasn't sold on the shader.
But luckily I gave it a try instead of tossing it in a donation bag, and was pleased to discover that it's a creamy, moisturizing dusty, rose neutral jackpot! I've basically worn this in my weekly arsenal since January. A nice light touch when I don't want to look too done up, or to tone down a bold look.
With regards to the formula, as you can see, it's moisturizing and creamy enough that it looks really dewy on the lips. The only downside is that due to its creaminess, it's not the longest-lasting lipstick, unfortunately. But the best part about a neutral lipstick is that if it wears off and you can't reapply, it just fades into your natural lip colour, no muss no fuss.
For a bonus, I've also shared what the lipstick looks like in a full face shot. A MAKEUP FREE full face shot. A rarity amongst beauty bloggers. You're lucky I trust you enough with my face, some people never see this side of me!
And there you have it! A neutral that is like my lips, only better. To really take advantage of this look, try it with a bold eye or a reaaaaally good contour. You could also rock a neat neutral lip with a 'no makeup look' but what fun is that? You can nab Model Co's Dusk till Dawn here.
What is your favourite neutral lipstick?
