Ole Henriksen - Three Little Wonders Review

Ole Henriksen - Three Little Wonders

Ah, skincare. I'm addicted to skincare products and I think it's a geographic obsession. Toronto is a city with the most changeable weather and it wreaks havoc on my skin, so I'm always on the hunt for a new favourite item.

I'm already a devout evangelist for Ole Henriksen's African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser, but was curious to test out the rest of the brand's mighty skincare arsenal. And what better place to start than the Three Little Wonders Mini Collection?

The kit includes three deluxe samples of:

  • Truth Serum Collagen Boosster (.33 oz)
  • Invigorating Night Gel (.25 oz)
  • Sheer Transformation® Brightening Moisturizer (.25 oz)

Of the three, I found myself most drawn to the Truth Serum Collagen Booster. It's a slightly denser serum than I'm used to using, the consistency is closer to argan oil than a hyaluronic acid, but it did such wonders for my skin! A pump and a half would cover my whole face, leaving my skin softened and smelling great with that citrus vanilla aroma that Ole Henriksen has really perfected. I'm keeping my eye out for the next Sephora sale to grab a full-size of this wonder.

The Invigorating Night Gel includes an AHA complex, which made it a slightly stronger item than I'm using to using on my skin, both with it's almost vinegar-y aroma, and it's formula. If you have any breakouts occuring, beware, as this product tends to sting. If your skin is clear, it goes on smooth, but it does leave the skin feeling a touchy film-y. I've had no other reactions to it, but it's not giving me much of an impression to go off from. Don't think I'll be buying this one again.

Finally, the Sheer Transformation Brightening Moisturizer is a perfectly servicable moisturizer that does double-duty. It can be used in daytime before applying makeup, or in the evening before bed. I've been testing this in the summer and it's still light enough to not clog the pores, but with a consistency that allows it to work it's magic overnight. I love a good multi-purpose moisturizer, so I may consider repurchasing it.

The Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders Mini Collection can be purchased from Sephora for $30CAD.
